Dry Ice Blasting Services in the St. Louis Metro Area and throughout the Midwest

Safer Equipment

Greater Productivity

Lower Maintenance Costs

BNC Dry Ice Blasting LLC is an Industrial/Commercial Cleaning Contractor that specializes in the use of dry ice (COâ‚‚) to remove, and clean, virtually all undesired contaminants from industrial equipment and machinery without compromising the integrity of your valuable asset(s).

Many industrial facilities have turned to dry ice (COâ‚‚) blasting, which completes the job faster, doesn’t produce secondary waste and is particularly proficient with respect to difficult-to-remove contaminants.  Dry ice cleaning is more effective, and more efficient, than traditional cleaning methods when it comes to removing the toughest grease, dirt, adhesives and other contaminants.

In most cases, equipment can be cleaned in place, online, resulting in safer equipment with less downtime, greater productivity and lower maintenance costs.  Unlike chemicals, water blasting and abrasive grit blasting, COâ‚‚ blasting uses dry ice particles in a high-velocity airflow to remove contaminants from the surface of machinery and equipment without the added costs, and inconvenience, of secondary waste treatment and disposal.

Dry ice blasting is one of the best ways to clean surfaces without causing damage to equipment being cleaned or to the environment.  Our cleaning services are fast, effective, thorough and safe with unlimited applications across a wide variety of manufacturing and production industries.  Please call us today to find out how our dry ice cleaning service can benefit your company.

What is Dry Ice Blasting?

Dry ice blasting is similar to sand blasting and soda blasting; however, dry ice blasting is a non-abrasive cleaning process that uses solid carbon dioxide (COâ‚‚) pellets as impact media for removing surface contaminants without the use of chemicals, abrasives, high temperatures, or water.

Dry ice pellets are accelerated at a very high speed through a pressurized air stream that is directed at the targeted surface.

On impact, the solid dry ice pellets sublimate immediately, transferring kinetic energy to the surface.  The expansion of dry ice, along with the its rapid change from a solid to a gas, causes microscopic shock waves that assist in removing the contaminant.

Dry ice blasting is a completely dry cleaning process which means the only waste that needs to be cleaned up and removed is the original contaminant.

What it looks like...Dry ice cleaning exclusively uses dry ice (solid CO2) to remove a contaminant.  The process is non-abrasive, non-conductive, non-toxic and non-flammable.  In this example, carbon buildup is easily removed without the use of water, sand or other media that produces secondary waste.

Benefits of Dry Ice Blasting...
Faster & More Effective

Equipment can be cleaned in place and on line. Oftentimes, our dry ice cleaning process doesn't require time consuming, and costly, disassembly and reassembly.  Since dry ice blasting uses a dry and non-abrasive medium, preparation time is significantly reduced resulting in lower maintenance costs and greater productivity.

A Dry Cleaning Process

Blasting with dry ice (COâ‚‚) particles results in a clean, dry and residue free surface.  Dry ice blasting is also non-conductive and safe for, and around, electrical equipment as well as other applications where the use of water is restricted or not permitted.

No Secondary Waste

Dry ice (COâ‚‚) sublimates on impact, leaving a dry and residue free surface with no secondary waste (i.e. sand, soda, water); only the contaminant that has been removed remains to be disposed of.  Additionally, dry ice blasting can virtually eliminate the high costs of disposal that may be associated with other materials.

Increased Safety

The COâ‚‚ pellets used in our dry ice cleaning process are non-toxic, non-abrasive, non-flammable and non-conductive.  Our dry ice cleaning service is the safe alternative for employees, the environment, as well as your valuable equipment/machinery.

Eco-Friendly

Dry ice blasting produces strong results and reduces he amount of water and other solvents often used with traditional cleaning methods.  Dry ice cleaning process produces no waste, water runoff, or residue on the surface being cleaned.  All that remains is the disposal of waste removed from the surface.

Dry ice blasting can be easily suited to a wide range of applications and cleaning conditions by making adjustments to the quantity of dry ice particles as well as the acceleration pressure.  Dry ice cleaning can be used on electrical equipment such as motors and electrical panels, food processing equipment, molds and dyes, and restoration of smoke damage where the use of water, chemicals and abrasives may not be indicated.  In addition, dry ice blasting require NO drying time; there is no water, solvents or abrasive media that need to be dried, cleaned up, or even removed from your equipment, after cleaning.
